High-quality surgical underwear and clothing are made of multi-layer materials. Such products fully comply with GOST 13795-2011, the governing standard in Russia. There are several producers of multi-layer materials in Russia. Most of them apply imported components for their products, while only a few manufacture this composite material from scratch. Gexa is one of them who make multi-layer materials without imported components. In 2012, it had a range of materials registered under the brand name TUTAMI. What specific materials are included under this name and how do they differ from the like?
Tutami is an advanced development made by Gexa – Nonwoven Materials OOO. At the moment, the following materials are included: Tutami adsorb, Tutami adsorb SB II, Tutami adsorb S, Tutami adsorb A, Tutami leve, Tutami papyr, Tutami span L, which are primarily used for producing various surgical items.
TUTAMI adsorb
This covering material, named TUTAMI adsorb, is characterized by high barrier properties and the density of 60 g/m2 to 95 g/m2. It is used for products that must combine absorbability, moisture resistance and comfort. Such products include disposable sheets for draping the surgical site, sterile patient wraps and operation-specific uderwear sets.
TUTAMI leve
TUTAMI leve is used for making surgical clothes for operations lasting over 30 minutes, with a high volume of discharged liquids. The density of this material is eqal to 55 g/m2. It is characterized by high water resistance providing excellent protection over the critical parts of the clothes, thus minimizing the risk of healthcare-associated infection. As already mentioned, the material is used for the critical zones of disposable surgical gowns.
TUTAMI papyr
TUTAMI papyr is the last of the materials of the brand mentioned above. It is rather a base material as it doesn’t meet all the GOST 13795-2011 requirements. Like laminated spunlace, it is used for making disposable sheets and wipes.
